Landscape in motion with a view

The extension of the school centre in Wincrange required a new concept of the open spaces. The leitmotiv was a diagonal opening of the schoolyard area to the landscape horizon. The landscape sight focuses through modelling of the ground, solitary trees and groves. Other elements that underline open spaces are the lowered amphitheatre, a lively integrated artificial lawn and large landscape stairway. The landscape stairway connects the schoolyard lordly with the landscape in motion. The lively integrated artificial lawn in central area makes it possible to practise various sports and plays of motion. The amphitheatre descending stairs form a wind-protected space with many seating accommodations. It is possible to reach the paved ground in a variety of ways, over the stairs, climbing ramps and slides. Elements close to nature and stimulating the movement complete the concept.
